Hakata Station: Japanese Chestnut Mont Blanc Piped Right in Front of You at CROSS POINT, Oriental Hotel Fukuoka

This is a translation of a Japanese article published on November 2, 2026.

Hi, I’m Minipaku!

In September 2026, I visited CROSS POINT, the café & bar at Oriental Hotel Fukuoka Hakata Station, right in front of Hakata Station.

The café’s signature dessert is the “Shiboritate Waguri Mont Blanc” (しぼりたて和栗モンブラン). I heard that some people even come from overseas just for this Mont Blanc.

Summary

  • The highlight of the signature Mont Blanc is that it is finished by piping Japanese chestnut paste right in front of you
  • A 1-minute walk from Hakata Station. You can go straight in from the hotel’s 2nd-floor entrance, so it’s very easy to get to
  • The whole café has a luxurious, stylish atmosphere
  • A good place for two people who want to spend a special time together

The signature “Shiboritate Waguri Mont Blanc”

Shiboritate Waguri Mont Blanc

According to the official website, the “Shiboritate Waguri Mont Blanc” is finished by piping rich Japanese chestnut paste right in front of the customer. (“Shiboritate” means “freshly piped”, and “waguri” means Japanese chestnuts.)

Watching it being piped (video)

With the staff’s permission, I filmed the paste being piped.

Of course, it tasted great, and I enjoyed it with an iced coffee.

Other menu items that caught my eye

A stylish parfait

A stylish parfait in a glass

Besides the Mont Blanc, there was also a stylish parfait like this one.

The staff’s recommendation: “Oriental Hakata Pudding”

The staff told me that the “Oriental Hakata Pudding” (オリエンタル博多プリン) is also recommended.

I didn’t get to try it this time, but according to the official website, it’s an original pudding made with “Tetsuya to Noriko no Tamago”, a brand of eggs from Itoshima, Fukuoka, and served in a cup of Koishiwara ware, a traditional pottery from Fukuoka.

Close to the station and very easy to get to

The best part of this visit was how easy it is to get to.

According to the official website, the hotel is a 1-minute walk from JR Hakata Station (Chikushi Exit). You can go straight into the café from the hotel’s 2nd-floor entrance, so it’s nice that you can drop by right from the station.

A luxurious, stylish space

Seats at CROSS POINT at night

The whole café has a luxurious and stylish feel. According to the official website, it’s a bright café with sunlight streaming in during the day, and turns into a bar with a calm, chic atmosphere at night.

I think it’s a good place for two people who want to spend a special time together.
